Sam and Grace also have to contend with Grace’s newly hostile parents. And Sam isn’t sure where his responsibilities should lie – with helping the new wolves, or with leading his own life as a human. But Grace isn’t so sure anymore that she will never change – she keeps feeling more and more lupine. In Linger, the characters continue to explore why Grace never changed into a werewolf after being bitten they think they can use the information to help unwilling werewolves change back into humans. Sam (a part-time werewolf) and Grace (his human love interest) share point-of-view time with Cole (a new werewolf) and Isabel (another human), the latter two dominating the story lines. Linger is less about the characters in wolf form and more about their interactions when they are human. This tale of the relationships between werewolves and humans takes up where Shiver left off, but both books actually end (a rarity these days for trilogies), and can each be read independently. Linger is Book Two of the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy.
